LOve It…! GOOD JOB =)?
Dear James,
I am writting to tell you that i read a million little peices while i was addicted to weed and drinking. I read the book in 2006 for the first of many times. I was in high school and was a loner at the time, reading how some one who was worse off then me helped. I am now clean and sober, i am turning 21 this year and i have not touched weed or alchol for about a year. When ever i am wanting to drink or get high i think of how in your book you seemed worse than i was and still made it. What made me wake up and see that i had a problem was when if i would go more than say 6 hours with out weed i would shake. So i figured if you did it then who was i to do it. I know that i was nto nearly as bad off as you but the weed was making me do things that i was not proud of, i started to deal with an boyfriend. We were almost cought one night with about 4 pounds or weed and 2 pounds of crack, the ploice officer never looked in the car thank god.
I want to thank you for giving me life. I wish that there was a better way to say thanks than this but, oh well. Its funny i have read A million Little Peices so many times that my book is getting worn out.
Once again thank you so much for helping me get my life back. I feel so much better now that i can see clearly. it would be wonderful to hear from you if you ever have the time please email me Sir.

I was wondering if James Frey would be able to answer some of these basic questions for a school project called Talk with an Author. My job for this project is to find as much information about James Frey so I’ll be able to present it to my class as if I was him. If he could answer any of these questions it would be greatly appreciated.
What is your most famous work? (I would say A Million Little Pieces buuuut I’m never quite sure)
What is the importance of your body of work?

Is there any one person who inspired you to write?
What makes your writing so special?
What compelled you to start writing?
What demographic do you target in your writing?
How do you continue to keep yourself motivated to write?
Is writing something you always wanted to do?
What do you believe is the difference between your time and the present? (Now I know you’re not that old but things have ovbiously changed from the 70′s amd 80′s)
Do you believe the human race is improving?

If you had a time machine, to where/when would you travel?
Did you have another job other than writing?
Is your work autobiographical?
Do you have any profound quotes you’d like to share?

If you could live your life differently, would you?
What do you really hate about who you are?
With what author would you most like to be compared?
At what age did you begin considering writing as a career?
How long did it take you to complete your most famous work?
What are some of the major themes in your work?
What are you tyring to accomplish in your life?
Who do you dislike most in the world?
What is one nice thing about that person?
Of all the things you’ve learned about religion, what do you think is true and what do you think isn’t?
What are you most proud of having accomplished?
What was the luckiest thing that ever happened to you?
What is the worst word you know?
If you could see into the future but not change it, would you want to?
If you had the power to read the mind of one person, who would it be?
What embarrasses you the most?
What, if anything, gets on your nerves the most?
What’s more important to you fame or fortune?
If you could change one thing about the way you look, what would it be?
Do you have any heroes?
James, I just finished Bright Shiny Morning that a reader friend gave to me. I haven’t heard about you before, but I must say, I will look for more of your work. Thanks for a very poignant story.
