I was not satisfied with your comment. It made me want to throw my laptop into a pool. I would appreciate a refund for my internet bill, It cost me $2.50 CA to review your comment.

Mr. Frey,

I have read all of your books. You take my mind to another world and release me of my own frustrations. Your words are healing and motivational. Thank you, I look forward to your future work.

I also agree, i cannot believe someone could call the works of Frey an abomination and ghastly! I am outraged, i am 14 and Million Little and Leonard open my eyes to the world in ways i could never have imagined, yet i cant help but pity poor "GK" for their ignorance and intollerance of a quite clearly ingenius piece of literature! As for Liza's proposal; forget her, marry me! :) haha. only kidding. x

Bright Shiny Morning was absolutely amazing in every way.
I absolutely love the style of writing.
So unique and effective.
I felt like i was writing it alot of the time.
Writers always fall deeply into their own work.
This was it, so amazing.
So much meaning.
However, due to its simplicity, it is easy to understand why many do not appreciate it.
It is far deeper than the style of writing allows us to see.
The use of repetition excited the hell out of me.

Love your work.

After reading MLP and MFL, I was extremely curious about how Mr. Frey's fiction would unfold. I loved Bright Shiny Morning. I loved the characters and the history. I think it was truly believable. Thank you.

Dear James Frey,

I'm from germany and I have to read the Story about "Amberton Parker" in "Bright Shiny Morning". At first, it is a nice story, written in a nice style which is very nice to read and also interesting for a english learning student like me.
But I have the assignment to characerize Amberton and to discuss the novel as a reflection of life in LA and in other urban areas. My problem is that I think it's difficult to characerize Amberton because it's a very difficulty and indiviual person and I've never heard of someone like him. What was your intention to imagine a protagonist like him?
My other problem is that I have no idea what I could write about the second assignment.
I hope you could help me a bit.

Kind regards
Tobi

I don't know if James Frey actually reads this or not, im sure he doesnt but this comment is for him.
I'm nineteen years young and i read a book of yours for the first time sitting in a jail cell. I got locked up being a heroin addict with suicidle behaviors and a bad attitude and really no one thought there was any hope for me. i didnt believe in the 12 steps (still dont) and i didnt see recovery in my future. i thought i was going to get released and use, until A million Little Peices ended up on my bunk that is. you made me feel understood and you made me feel strong and i dont care how much of your book is fiction and how much is fact..it saved my life.
im currently reading My Friend Leonard and i love it just as equally as i do AMLP and when im done i will move onto Bright Shiny Morning and from there any other book i find youre the author of.
Thank you..so very very much.
Today im 5 months clean and i chalk it up to an amizing author somehow giving me the strength.

I am 16 years old and I'm reading Bright Shiny Morning at the moment. I must say that the way you write is very different, very unique.
Your use of punctuation is also very different. Sometimes, I have to read a sentence a few times over before I understand it.
I don't know why you do it, is it just the way you write. Or do you just not give a F*** about the rules of punctuation.
Well, I thought I had issues. Reading this has made me feel so good, it makes me feel like everybody goes through different experiences in their lives. Good ones, not so good ones.
I must say, the story of Dylan and Maddie is my favourite one until now. The fact that they just ran away together.
This is the first book of yours I read, I'm looking forward to finishing this one. & also, looking forward to reading 'A Million Little Pieces' and 'My Friend Leonard'.
Thank you.

I read bright Shiney Morning last year, mostly while siting by the bed of my dying father, it took me on a journey and allowed me to forget some sadness for a while, but helped me remember some happiness and pain too. A beautiful poetic book, it prompted me to buy A Million Little Pieces (which i am reading now), and My Friend Leonard. I am also travelling to LA in April, going to try and feel the vibe i got from the book in real life.
Thanks for writing, and sharing your life and thoughts with us, its an honour to read your work.
