Think it's an editing error. Looks like he changed her name midway through the galleys or something. Bad editing detracts from a great book!

Esperanza gets up every morning at 6:00 AM. She takes a shower and does her hair, which Mrs. Chase requires her to keep in a bun.

Did he mean Mrs. Campbell? who is Mrs. Chase?

I thought Esperanza's story was beautifuly written. I skipped through the book to read the parts about her!!! She was such a wonderful character, and just made me happy. I loved the ending, I dont think I would have liked it if she would not have gotten back with the american boy.

One of my favorite characters. I really enjoyed this book. I have read every one. You are brilliant and you deserve the best. James, keep it up. I love your work and tell everyone I know about it. Please keep in touch. I couldn't put this book down. I opened the first page, laughed out loud, and kept reading. Within four days I finished your novel. I will reread again. I loved every word.
