Dear Mr. Frey,
You’ve never thought of publishing a book for foreign students of English as a Second Language around the world, have you?
I was living in Santos, Brazil, when I graduated in History, at the local University. And because my life was a mess at that time, I decided to go to The United States to learn English and live the dream I have always had to study in an American College.
I came back to my country after several years, and instead of getting a job as a History teacher, I started to teach English. I have been doing that for the past twenty years, and my best helper on my lessons has been Oprah Winfrey.
I have got to know her during the time I lived in The US, fell in love with her work like everybody else, and since then her interviews have been the topic of my lessons. I have written a book using her show.
Now, this is where you come to the story. I need Oprah Winfrey’s consent, I need a publisher, and, off course, I have to know if the material I have is worth publishing.
I have been planning to go to a publisher here in Brazil for years, but never did it. When I saw you being interviewed by Oprah the other day, I thought you could be the right person to join me in this project.
Looking forward to hearing from you.
Regina Rezende

Hi there!

Just read A Million Little Pieces and really liked the book.
If you can imagine, I only found out about the whole controversy thing after reading the book.
Honestly, I really don't think the factuality of the writing affects the quality of the book.

I just did a full book review on mu blog:
http://www.wayofthewarriorqueen.com

I'm now going to buy and read Frey's next book!
And I second what some of the other comments say : glad you're still writing and didn't stop after the Oprah debacle. Great fiction writing is hard to come buy!

Peace,
Terrie

I respect James Frey as an author and a human being. Raw. His own truth.
A million Little Pieces was my bible for a while. I have never struggled with addiction, but I have struggled with life. That book saved me. I don't care about whether details are 'accurate' or not. It spoke to me and healed me. The writing is the gift. The heart of the writer is the gift.
Bright Shiny Morning is likewise an amazing read.
James Frey is one of the great American writers. Rather, one of the great Human writers.
Thank you.
