Note from James Frey’s editor, Roland Philipps (April 1 2008)
From the moment I first read A Million Little Pieces I realised what an exceptional writer James Frey is; so I was very excited to see his novel. But I was not prepared to be as blown away as I was by it – its characterisation, sheer storytelling pace, its deep compassion and its great good humour. James is already a bestselling memoirist and now stakes his claim to be one of the great novelists of the twenty-first century.
I just finished Bright Shiny Morn. & I have so many questions to ask about the characters. It would be nice to sit with a cup of coffe & get caught up on where they’re at now. That’s how it was for me. They came into my life stayed a while had interesting conversations, & then moved away no forwarding address. They will be missed. You are a very very good writer James.Thankyou for hours of pure entertainment & better yet the history lessons on ca. Looking forward to your next book.
